Lavenham - Lupe Castro - MsCastroRides

Lavenham is part of Fred Perry Holdings or the Japanese parent company HIT UNION it’s more than 50 years old and can be proud at being a classic British clothing manufacturers starting in 1969 making quilted horse blankets and it’s been a favourite of the riding and country set and is really well known for the stylish nylon quilted coat or gilet in green and blue

Up to this day the pieces are made at their Suffolk factory just 6 miles away from the original one . They only work with British cloth manufacturers and the wadding they use in the quilting comes from the north of England and is made of 65% recycled fibres in their standard pieces, although they do have fully recycled jackets and coats in a collaboration they did with Japanese influential retailer label Beams they also offer a full repair service if your jacket needs it.

Collaborations is something they love doing and Excitingly this season

The collaboration project is with the artist and designer Kosuke Tsumuru part of Issey Miyake design studio till 1990 when he left his own project Final Home and the famous Survival jacket .

The project was based on having as little impact as possible so materials that were already at the factory were used such as recycled polyester and by product off cuts for insulating . The idea being that the gaps and space within each piece can be filled . Each poncho or gilet has 18 pockets with zips and comes with 3 pepples ( off cut pouches ) made entirely from waste materials from the factory leaving you to choose whatever you have around for the others . There are shoulders straps for carrying the jacket when not being worn.

With the on going winter coming this is already sounding a number one necessity
