I love sharing the talented designers and labels that I discover. And one of my most recent discoveries is the fabulous jewellery brand Lepa Punca. I first stumbled upon it by chance at TEA Store Tenerife Arts Space. I was on the hunt for new earrings after cutting my hair made me realise that all the ones had been wearing before now seemed too big. I wanted something small that I could wear daily with almost everything. But also, something I could easily customise to the outfit. Moreover, it had to be something that fit with my eco conscious lifestyle. Ticking all the boxes felt like a bit of a tall order; until I came across Lepa Punca.
The brand is owned by Melisa Rodriguez, an architect and environmental policy consult by profession, who I had the chance to meet with in Madrid. She shared the concept with me, which aligns with so many of my conscious fashion values and made me fall in love even more! The stunning and unique pieces are all made from recycled silver bought from antique collectors and then melted down to be used by artisans in Tenerife. Each design is only produced 3-4 times to keep stock and waste at a minimum. The brand is also a member of the ‘Joyas Sostenibles’ organisation of sustainable jewellers, meaning Melisa adheres to strict production guidelines.
All of the one-off collections are based on women that Melisa is inspired by. And in fact, the name Lepa Punca means beautiful girl and is what she used to greet her friends. My personal favourite is the Eva Marie collection, with its clean lines, geometric simplicity and texturized detail. And her next collection will be showing in Madrid at Momad this September and promises to be very special.
And to share my love the designs with you, I asked Melisa for a discount code that gives my followers 15% off the Eva Marie range . So, use the code MSCASTRO when you shop Eva Marie collection online until 12th October 2022
