Marianna Ladreyt: Paris-based fashion designer focus on sustainable fashion and upcycling - MsLupeCastro - Lupe Castro

Marianna Ladreyt, a Paris-based fashion designer, is revolutionizing the industry through her innovative approach to sustainable fashion and upcycling. A graduate of the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam and the Beaux-arts de Toulouse, Ladreyt's work transcends traditional boundaries, seamlessly blending new imaginary worlds, myths, and modernity to create a whole new dimension where metamorphosis are limitless.

I was so lucky to visit her studio a beautiful space full of light and vistas of the Sacre Cœur à stones throw away from designer Marine Serre.

Ladreyt's creative prowess has not gone unnoticed, as evidenced by her achievements as a finalist of the Hyères International Fashion Festival in 2017 and her recognition as a laureate of the Grand Prix de la Création de la Ville de Paris in 2019, the same year she launched her eponymous brand. Her designs have captivated audiences and critics alike, earning her a well-deserved reputation as a trailblazer in the fashion world especially her marvellous bum bags that were snatched up by galleries Lafayette’s a couple of seasons ago as well as her collaborations and one off projects more of which we will see in the new year …

Embracing sustainability and environmental consciousness, Ladreyt's artistry shines through her transformation of discarded swim bands into exquisite, one-of-a-kind bags. Her meticulous process involves washing, cleaning, cutting, and redesigning each piece, resulting in labor-intensive creations that take approximately four days to complete. The end result is a collection of unique, eco-friendly accessories that showcase Ladreyt's commitment to both artistic excellence and environmental responsibility.
