First and foremost, Ana Seco Duran is an artist. So, it is little wonder that as the founder and creative director of Seco-Seco by Ana Seco Durán, her colourful collections and creations usually start out on a canvas, in the form of oil paintings.
This is what make’s Ana’s brand so unique. The initial paintings that go on to become the prints for the collections are all digitally printed on certified Oeko Tex Lycra in Turkey, using dyes that are certified as not harmful to the environment. The garments themselves are then manufactured on the Islands, and pieces are available either as made-to-measure or ready-to-wear.
She designs for women with curves, utilising different drapes, pleating and cuts in her swimsuits and bikinis that elongate and stylise the figure. Her spectacular kaftans, pareos and accessories finish the look.
Ana’s inspiration for the Seco-Seco SS22 Hippocampus collection (from the Greek word for seahorse), was the hugely diverse marine species that make up the rich biodiversity of the Canarian archipelago. But with Ana there is always a message behind the collections and pieces, and in this case, the message was communicating the effect of human interference, which in turn is pushing beautiful Sea Horse’s to the brink of extinction around the islands.
For this stunning collection Ana collaborated with a unique collaboration with glass jewellery designer Agostini Santini who was also part of the Tenerife Moda.
